Job summary

University of Southern California's Department of Public Safety seeks a Surveillance Operations Field Training Officer to lead training for surveillance monitors and guide new staff through orientation and in-service programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in public safety settings is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs, coordinates and conducts training programs for new Surveillance Operations staff members.
• Provides coaching, direction and guidance to trainees.
• Evaluates trainee performance based on field behavior.
• Reviews trainee readiness at the conclusion of the training period.
• Performs Surveillance Observation Monitor functions as assigned, supporting the general safety of the university community.
• Assists in development and updates of training programs and materials.
• Ensures compliance with applicable laws, policies and safety standards.
