Job summary

USC is seeking a Training and Mentorship Specialist for Community Service Officers. You will provide comprehensive training, mentor new staff, and coordinate orientation programs, ensuring officers acquire skills, knowledge and good judgment required for daily operations during training.

You will design, coordinate and deliver training programs, assess officer-trainee performance, and collaborate with university departments to maintain safety standards and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent education or combined experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret federal, state and local laws.
• Knowledge of campus geography and surrounding streets.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Performs Community Service Officer functions to support campus safety.
• Participates in crime prevention and public information programs.
• Liaises with university departments and students as required.
• Designs, coordinates, and executes training programs.
• Provides coaching and feedback to officer trainees.
• Assists trainees with learning goals and evaluates readiness.
• Ensures compliance with laws, policies and safety standards.
• Reports emergencies per USC Emergency Operations Plan.
