Job summary

University of Southern California is seeking a Community Service Field Training Officer within the Department of Public Safety (DPS). You will provide comprehensive training, mentorship, and orientation for new officers, while assisting with ongoing in-service training and performance assessments.

You will coach officers in field skills, uphold professional standards, and coordinate training programs across the university community to ensure safety and compliance with laws and USC policies.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret federal, state and local laws and policies.
• Experience with training or instructional programs is a plus.
• Valid CA Driver's License and DMV Pull Notice eligibility.
• Guard Card (CA BSIS) required or in-state equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive training and mentorship to community service officers.
• Design, coordinate and execute orientation programs and trainings for new staff.
• Assist with in-service training for existing staff.
• Provide coaching, direction and feedback to officer-trainees.
• Perform Community Service Officer functions in assigned capacity.
• Collaborate to develop, coordinate, and facilitate training programs.
