University of Southern California Department of Public Safety is seeking a Community Service Field Training Officer to design and implement orientation and in-service trainings, mentor new staff, and support daily operations during training periods. You will coach officer-trainees and assess performance while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

The role requires knowledge of federal, state and local laws, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate with university departments.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent; combined experience/education acceptable.
• Associate’s degree preferred or substituted by related experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to read and interpret laws.
• Knowledge of campus geography and safety policies; ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Valid CA Driver’s License and DMV Pull Notice program participation.

Responsabilités

• Perform Community Service Officer functions to support campus safety.
• Design and deliver training programs; coach officer trainees.
• Assess trainee performance and provide feedback.
• Coordinate with campus departments and communicate requirements to supervisors.
• Maintain compliance with laws, policies, and safety standards.
