Job summary

Fairmount Park, Inc. is seeking a vigilant security professional to maintain continuous surveillance of gaming and racing areas and surrounding property.

You will identify risks, document incidents, and report to appropriate parties to secure safety and assets. Responsibilities include coordinating with law enforcement, supporting confidential investigations, and preparing daily reports while adhering to gaming regulations.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Gaming industry experience preferred.
• Ability to identify color (casino tokens are color coded).
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
• High school diploma or GED, some college preferred.
• Ability to analyze documents and reports.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including holidays.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required licensing.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all property areas for security and safety risks and report findings.
• Use surveillance tools to identify and document illegal or suspicious activities.
• Maintain knowledge of New York State Gaming Commission rules and regulations.
• Protect casino assets and gaming integrity.
• Participate in confidential investigations.
• Research subpoena requests from State and Federal authorities.
• Complete daily reports.
• Coordinate with law enforcement on criminal matters observed.
• Testify in court when necessary.
• Suggest changes to policies and procedures with asset protection in mind.

Job Description

Responsible for maintaining close, continuous surveillance of all gaming areas, racing areas and the surrounding property to secure safety and property assets.

Essential Job Functions

• Always monitor all areas of the property, identifying potential security and/or safety risks and reporting them to the appropriate individual or entity, for proper resolution
• Utilizes necessary equipment, to identify, record, document and report illegal, suspicious or unusual activities occurring on property
• Maintains a working knowledge of all rules and regulations of the New York State Gaming Commission and ensures strict adherence
• Protects casino assets and gaming integrity
• Participate in confidential internal and external investigations
• Conducts research on subpoena requests from State and Federal Authority
• Completes daily reports
• Coordinates with Law Enforcement on matters pertaining to all criminal activity observed
• Testify in court when necessary
• Makes suggestions and recommendations with regard to possible changes in policies and procedures of other departments with the protection of casino and race track assets in mind
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• All other duties as assigned

Physical and Mental Demands

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands to control surveillance tools.
• Must occasionally lift and lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to sit in confined spaces for extended periods of time
• Frequently required to stoop, crouch or kneel
• Ability to interact with others while maintaining a courteous and positive demeanor
• Exposure to climate environments

Base Pay Range

19.00
