Mercyhealth in Wisconsin is seeking a Surgical Scrub Technologist to assist surgeons by maintaining a sterile operating room and ensuring equipment functions properly throughout procedures. The role includes shift work (days) and a 40-hour week, with on-call possibilities.

You will support patient safety and prepare instruments and supplies for each case. Responsibilities include gowning, gloving, passing instruments, maintaining sterile technique, counts, and room turnover.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program required or program currently participating in accreditation.
• Less than 1 year experience as a Surgical Scrub technologist.

Mansioni

• Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures and maintains sterile field.
• Assists surgical team before, during, and after surgery.
• Checks instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for procedures.
• Preps sterile table with instruments, supplies, and medications.
• Assists with patient positioning and draping; creates and maintains sterile field.
• Performs counts for sponges, needles, and instruments prior to incision.
• Passes instruments to the surgeon and assists as directed; prepares dressings.
• Assists in cleaning the operating room and prepping for the next patient.
• Participates in department performance improvement activities.
