Job summary

Mercyhealth Wisconsin and Illinois is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. You will maintain the sterile field, prepare instruments, assist with positioning, and pass supplies to the surgeon during procedures.

This role requires a high school diploma and completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program or current accreditation process, NBSTSA certification preferred, and CPR/BLS certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program required OR currently participating in accreditation process.
• NBSTSA certification preferred or required only if program is not accredited.

Responsibilities

• Operative procedures require maintaining sterile field and readiness of equipment.
• Scrub, gown, glove, and set up sterile table with instruments and supplies.
• Pass instruments to surgeon and assist with maintaining sterile technique during surgery.
• Assist with patient positioning and draping as required.
• Assist in room turnover and preparation for next patient.
• Participate in department performance improvement activities.
