Job summary

Prisma Health in Parkridge Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in the care of patients of all ages before, during and after surgical procedures. You will perform scrub duties as part of the surgical team, support sterile technique, and maintain patient safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Education - Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program or Surgical Technologist training in the U.S. Armed Forces.
• Experience - No previous experience required.
• In lieu of education: 15 hours annually of ST education and grandfathering provisions for SC prior to 2008 or military training.

Responsibilities

• Assists in care of patients before, during and after surgical procedures as part of the scrub team.
• Maintains aseptic technique and correct counts of instruments, needles and sponges.
• Prepares OR by arranging instruments and supplies per Surgeon Preference Card.
• Cares for specimens and handles drugs/solutions under RN direction.
• Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and at end of day.
