Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking an entry-level Surgical Technologist to assist in caring for patients through all stages of surgery. You will support the operative team, maintain accurate instrument counts, and ensure aseptic technique throughout procedures in Richland Hospital's perioperative unit.

The role requires completing a Surgical Technology program or equivalent military training, with at least 15 hours of annual ST education and active certification maintenance. Day shift in Richland.

Qualifications

• Education: Surgical Technology program or US Armed Forces ST training.
• Experience: No prior experience required.
• Certifications: CST with NBSTSA or TS-C (SC prior to 2008) and ongoing certification.
• Annual ST education: 15 hours mandatory (or grandfathered exemptions).

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team during procedures and maintain instrument counts.
• Prepare OR by arranging sterile supplies and instruments.
• Maintain aseptic technique and handle sharps safely.
• Complete annual age-specific accountabilities.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and required education.
