Graduate of a surgical technologist program or 2 years of scrub experience is required, CPR certification is mandatory, and CST certification is expected within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Completely prepares sterile field in a timely manner.
• Maintains sterile field and boundaries during procedures.
• Assists physician by sponging, suctioning, retracting, and cutting suture as required.
• Acts as a preceptor, sharing knowledge in a supportive/educational manner.
• Maintains on-call availability.
• Assists in emergency situations and maintains safety and compliance with hospital policies.
