Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the Surgical Services team at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Illinois. The role focuses on scrubbing and preparing sterile fields, supporting the surgeon, and ensuring instruments and supplies are ready for each case.

Requirements include graduation from a surgical technologist program or 2 years of scrub experience, CPR certification, and CST certification within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of surgical technologist program or 2 years of surgical scrub experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist certification will be obtained by sitting for the certification exam within 3 months of employment.
• CPR certified is required.

Responsibilities

• Completely prepare sterile field in a timely manner and maintain it during procedures.
• Assist physician with sponging, suctioning, retracting and cutting suture as instructed.
• Maintain instrument and supply readiness and manage turnover after cases.
• Participate in patient safety efforts and ensure compliance with hospital policies.
