Qualifications

• Requires vocational or technical training in Surgical Technology or completion of US Military/PHS program.
• Certified Surgical Technician required.
• BLS-AHA required within 30 days of hire.
• 0-1 years related work experience.
• Certification by a national body accredited for surgical technologists; or completion of an accredited school with certification within 12 months of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Prepares OR with instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment as per policy; references preference cards for each case.
• Assists surgeon and perioperative team during procedures.
• Maintains aseptic technique in scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and setup of sterile fields.
• Handles sterile supplies and specimens properly.
• Assists with surgical counts for sponge, sharps, and instruments.
