Job summary

HCA Healthcare’s Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant seeks a Surgical Technologist to support quality surgical care. You will prepare sterile supplies, maintain the sterile field, and assist surgeons while coordinating with perioperative staff.

Minimum education requirements include a surgical technologist program or eligible substitution for pre-2009 hires. Certification pathways are noted as CST or TS-C- per HB 643.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• Graduate of a surgical technologist program OR hires prior to 9/1/2009 may substitute with 1-year experience in a hospital setting as a surgical technologist.
• Experience: None required (unless used in lieu of education as stated above).
• A. NON-CERTIFIED: No license, certificate or registrations required for Sterile Processing Department; others may require CST or TS-C- per HB 643.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quality surgical care by anticipating surgeon needs and coordinating with perioperative staff.
• Gather and prepare sterile supplies, equipment, and maintain the sterile field; supply instruments to the sterile field.
• Perform routine scrub role and follow established policies and procedures; adhere to AORN and regulatory standards.
