Job summary

Methodist Hospital Northeast is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to assist in delivering high-quality surgical care. The individual will prepare sterile supplies, maintain the sterile field, and support surgeons with instruments and supplies during procedures.

The role requires a surgical technologist program graduate and certification (NBSTSA CST or NCCT TS-C). No prior experience is required, though experience is valued and training will be provided as per department needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a surgical technologist program or hospital experience prior to 9/1/2009 may substitute with 1 year of hospital surgical tech experience.
• Certification as a CST or TS-C preferred for certified technologists.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivery of quality surgical care by planning and anticipating surgeon needs.
• Coordinate with circulating perioperative nurse during procedures.
• Prepare sterile supplies, equipment, and maintain the sterile field.
• Supply sterile instruments and supplies to the sterile field.
• Perform routine scrub duties and department-specific tasks.
• Follow AORN standards and hospital policies.
• Participate in high-level disinfection and safety protocols.
