Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an Experienced Certified Surgical Technologist for a 20-hour-per-week daytime role with a rotating schedule that includes on-call nights, weekends, and holidays. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is available for a limited time.

The ST will work under the supervision of the RN/Circulating Nurse and support intra-operative patient care. Responsibilities include setting up for procedures, passing instruments, ensuring sterile technique, and assisting with instrument

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program.
• Certification preferred; must obtain certification within one month of hire.
• Over one year of surgical technology experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Circulating nurse with setup for procedures and instruments.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon at the sterile field.
• Anticipate needs of the surgical team and provide instruments promptly.
• Maintain sterilization and handling of instruments per policy.
• Participate in sponge, sharps, and instrument counts for safety.
• Support quality improvement and safety initiatives; participate in WHO checklist.
