Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist 1 for per diem coverage. The role involves assisting the circulating nurse, passing instruments to the surgeon, and maintaining sterile technique in a fast-paced environment.

You will participate in hand hygiene and safety initiatives, with on-call duties for specified nights, weekends, and holidays. Education required is a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program, with certification preferred and must be obtained within one year

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program.
• Certification preferred; must obtain certification within one year of hire.
• New graduate ST to one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Circulating nurse in setting up for procedures with proper instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon at the sterile field.
• Maintain asepsis and sterile field throughout procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives; complete mandatory education.
• Be available for on-call assignments as required.
