Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the Surgical Team in Newport, RI. You will assist the surgeon, manage the sterile field, and ensure patient safety across all ages—from pediatric to geriatric. You will work to optimize OR time and resources while upholding AORN asepsis standards.

The role requires certification as a CST or NCCT-TC, valid BLS, and 3 years of technologist experience. On-site, days, with full-time hours at Newport Hospital.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Functions in the surgical scrub role and assists the surgeon as needed.
• Prepares and passes needles, sutures, and surgical drains.
• Maintains asepsis and correct surgical field setup.
• Assists with equipment selection and cost-effective use of supplies.
• Demonstrates knowledge of AORN standards of asepsis and Retained Items protocol.
• Maintains current BLS certification and participates in ongoing training.
