Qualifications

• Knowledge of various surgical procedures to assist and anticipate physician needs.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques; ability to operate sterilization equipment.
• Ability to care for patients across the life span with culturally appropriate care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures and ensure instruments, equipment and supplies are available and stored.
• Assist nursing personnel in lifting/positioning patients for procedures; scrub and pass instruments.
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and correct any breaks; assist with suctioning and retractors.
• Clean and sterilize instruments; operate autoclaves/ultrasonic cleaners and store equipment.
• Remove soiled linen; restock supplies and set up room for next procedure.
• Stock surgical supplies in ORs and storage areas; perform other duties as assigned.

Current CST certification or NCCT-TC certification

3 years of surgical technologist experience

BLS Certification upon hire
