Job summary

Summit Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our operating suite. You will handle and pass instruments, maintain sterile field, and assist physicians during procedures while keeping patient safety at the core of every action.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, a vocational OR Technician program, and national certification. BLS is required; 2–4 years of OR experience are expected, with 5–8 years preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; vocational OR Technician program preferred.
• National certification as OR Technician required.
• BLS required with healthcare environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile field and handles instruments per protocol.
• Assists physician with equipment during procedures and setup.
• Monitors and maintains inventory of supplies in the room.
• Performs instrument and supply counts before, during and after procedures.
• Cleans equipment and instruments before and after use.
• Transfers and positions patients and helps prepare the room.
