Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the Labor and Delivery Unit 1. The role includes preparing the sterile field, delivering instruments to the surgeon, and assisting as a second assistant during procedures.

Yearly responsibilities include maintaining room readiness and ensuring patient safety under the supervision of a surgeon. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, BLS, and completion of an accredited OR ST program or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate basic critical thinking skills on their introductory team
• Perform primary role independently
• Anticipate surgeon needs and communicate with staff
• Complete basic skills and competencies in 2-3 service lines as delineated in the Surgery Skill Competency Checklist
• Independently scrub complex cases in 1-2 assigned service line specialties
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association)

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgical cases by obtaining supplies, establishing a sterile field, and delivering instruments to the operating room.
• Assist as second assistant to the surgeon and aid in patient positioning and specimen handling.
• Maintain equipment and ensure room cleanliness and readiness for subsequent cases.
