Job summary

Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ is seeking a surgical technologist to scrub on at least two surgical specialties, prepare instruments, and assist with case carts and turnover. The role includes training duties and adherence to sterile technique throughout procedures.

The weekend shift runs Saturday and Sunday with a 6:40 AM–7:10 PM schedule and 30% weekend premium, plus an 18% night differential when applicable. Holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified surgical technologist or 2–3 years in surgical tech role.
• Must be able to scrub proficiently in two surgical specialties.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgical procedures and pull appropriate instruments and supplies.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs and pass instruments.
• Maintain aseptic technique and universal precautions.
• Assist with case cart preparation and instrument counts.
• Assist with OR turnover and stocking of supplies.
• Participate in training and orientation of staff and students.
• Follow safety procedures for medication labeling and sharps handling.
