WellSpan Health in Ephrata is seeking an entry-level Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. You will prepare rooms, set up instruments, drape patients and assist the surgical team during procedures.

This full-time position features rotating shifts, on-call requirements for nights, weekends and holidays, and requires BLS certification plus one of the listed credentials (CST, Tech in Surgery or LPN) for hire.

Qualifications

• Certificate program post high school vocational training required.
• Less than 1 year relevant experience required; 1 year preferred.
• BLS certification required and CST/Tech in Surgery or LPN licensure required.

Responsabilités

• Prepares the operating room for cases by setting up table, instruments and supplies.
• Prepares rooms between procedures and after terminal cleaning; monitors and restocks supplies.
• Drapes patients for surgical procedures.
• Assists the surgical team during operative procedures.
• Assists in maintaining correct count of instruments, sutures and sponges.
• Prepares patient skin for surgery in accordance with hospital standards.
• Maintains aseptic techniques; monitors for breaches and corrects as needed.
• Assists surgeons during operations by retracting tissues under direction.
• Identifies and cares for specimens.
• May rotate work between hospital and ambulatory setting if assigned to Gettysburg Hospital or WellSpan Surgical Center.
