Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. Under RN supervision, you will provide patient care and support the surgical team, ensuring aseptic technique and accurate instrument handling.

You will anticipate the surgeon's needs, participate in the plan of care, and help maintain equipment and sterile processing throughout procedures. Required credentials include Basic Life Support and graduation from a surgical technician program.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
• Graduate of Surgical technician program
• Certified Surgical Technologist (Credentials)

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate care under the direction of RN for surgical patients.
• Demonstrates competency to perform the scrub role in assigned surgical procedures.
• Participates in the patient’s plan of care under direction of RN.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and assistant during procedures.
• Assists in instrument handling, counts, and aseptic technique.
• Maintains equipment and participates in cleaning/decontamination after cases.
