Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room before, during, and after procedures. The role encompasses preparing the surgical suite, maintaining aseptic technique, and assisting with patient positioning and draping.

You will participate in instrument counts, adapt to surgeon preferences, and help ensure a cost- effective, safe environment for patients. CPR certification and completion of an accredited surgical technology program are required or

Qualifications

Certificate from college or technical school required.
1–3 years surgical technologist experience preferred.
CPR certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Set up surgical operating suite with instruments and supplies.
Follow aseptic technique and standard precautions; handle medications and specimens per policy.
Assist with preparing, positioning and draping patients; participate in the surgical pause.
Understand and adapt to surgeon preferences; update surgeon preference materials.
Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
Care for and utilize resources to promote cost-effective and efficient patient care.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
