Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support sterile preparation and patient care before, during, and after surgery. You will assist with setting up the operating suite, pass instruments, and maintain aseptic technique.

Responsibilities include patient positioning, draping, instrument counts, and contributing to a safe, cost-efficient OR environment. CPR certification within 60 days of hire is required; CST/TS-C certification within 6 months is expected

Qualifications

Minimum one year certificate from a college or technical school, or 3–6 months related experience and/or training.
Preferred 1–3 years of Surgical Technologist experience.
CPR - American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
Accredited Surgical Technologist program completion and nationally recognized certification (CST, TS-C) within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Assists in setting up the surgical operating suite with appropriate instruments and supplies.
Assists with preparing, positioning and draping patients and participates in the surgical pause to assure correct patient and surgical site.
Performs sponge, needle, and instrument count.
Follows aseptic techniques and standard precautions.
Promotes cost effective and efficient environment for patients.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
