Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ is seeking a day shift, full-time Surgical Technician to join the OR team. You will assist the surgeon in the sterile field, prepare scrub duties, and support patient care during procedures.

The ideal candidate will hold CST or NCCT certification, have BLS within 14 days of hire, and be a graduate of a Surgical Technologist program; a minimum of one year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• CST or NCCT certification required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
• Graduate of Surgical Technologist Program.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year as a Certified Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon in the sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice Recommendations.
• Performs scrub duties in varied specialties/procedures.
• Ensures that the case has the necessary sterile supplies and equipment for that surgeon and procedure.
• Assists with circulating duties under the direct supervision of the RN circulator assigned to the patient.
• Ensure adherence to Hospital, State, and departmental policies and procedures.
