Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ, is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a day shift, full-time role in the OR. The CST assists the surgeon in the sterile field and supports scrub duties across varied procedures under RN supervision.

Requirements include CST or NCCT certification, 15 hours CE annually, and BLS within 14 days of hire. Preferred candidates have a high school diploma or GED, surgical tech program graduate, and at least one year of

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT – Certification.
Annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a surgical technologist in the State of NJ.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

Assist the surgeon in the sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice Recommendations.
Perform scrub duties in varied specialties/procedures.
Ensure the case has the necessary sterile supplies and equipment for that surgeon and procedure.
Assist with circulating duties under the direct supervision of the RN circulator assigned to the patient.
Ensure adherence to Hospital, State, and departmental policies and procedures.
