Job summary

Duke University Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist for on-site roles across Duke University Hospital and affiliated locations in Durham, NC. The position supports sterile technique and instrument handling under RN supervision, with opportunities in both OR and ambulatory settings.

Level I/II responsibilities include maintaining sterile fields, assisting with instrumentation, and ensuring patient safety from preoperative to postoperative care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or certified in NCCT/NBSTSA.
• Evidence of the successful completion of an appropriate training program for Surgical Technology in the United States Military.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a sterile field and assure the team maintains a sterile environment.
• Prepare the Operating Room with appropriate instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.
• Demonstrate correct and safe instrumentation passing and perform counts safely and accurately.
• Collaborate with nurses and physicians to support patient care in the OR and ambulatory settings.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program

Surgical Technologist certification (NCCT or NBSTSA)
