Job summary

Duke University Health System is seeking Surgical Technologists to support the operating room and ambulatory settings with sterile technique and patient care from infancy to geriatrics. You will prepare the OR, pass instruments, assist surgeons and maintain a sterile field in a fast-paced environment.

Level I/II pathways apply; new graduates welcome. BLS is required. This full-time, on-site role located in Durham, NC offers growing responsibilities and commitment to service excellence.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or maintains an accredited Surgical Technologist certification (NCCT or NBSTSA).
• Or, provides evidence of the successful completion of an appropriate training program for Surgical Technology in the United States Military.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field and sterile environment.
• Prepare Operating Room with instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
• Pass instrumentation safely and perform counts.
• Assist with patient preparation and intraoperative tasks.
• Support with case scheduling and post-operative instructions.
