Certified Surgical Technologist
Responsibilities
- The Surgical Technologist is a member of the healthcare team who provides technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of an RN, according to accepted clinical standards of care.
- Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure a sterile field.
- Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens.
- Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
- May assist in patient transport.

Requirements
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program or completion of a military or hospital‑based training program with 5 years acute care surgical tech experience.
- Surgical tech certification from NBSTSA or NCCT.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set‑up.
- Interpersonal skills.
