This position requires a recognized Surgical Technology certification and Basic Life Support certification. Qualifications

Position Description: Certified Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist is a member of the healthcare team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.

Position Details

Location: St Josephs South NorthEast Med Building

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM

Weekend Work: Every Other

On Call: Yes

Requirements

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
