Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist (Non-Certified) to join the Clinical team at Morton Plant – Endoscopy in Clearwater. The role provides hands-on perioperative support under RN supervision, ensuring sterile field setup and efficient operating room readiness.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of an accredited surgical technology program (or military/hospital training with 5 years acute care experience) plus BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Responsibilities

• Performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of an RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.

• The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.

• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room and patients to ensure sterile field.

• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.

• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.

• May assist in patient transport.

Position Details

Location: Morton Plant - Endoscopy

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 6:30am - 3:00pm

Weekend Work: Occasional

On Call: Yes

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.

• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
