Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist 2 to support the operating room team. The role involves scrubbing in, preparing the operative area, and maintaining sterile supplies under RN supervision.

You will help ensure instrument readiness, assist with patient positioning, and manage specimen handling. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited program and CST certification, with experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited surgical technology program.
• Certification as CST NBSTSA/NCCT or equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of experience in surgical technology.

Responsibilities

• Scrub into surgery and prepare instruments before the surgeon scrubs in.
• Prepare operative site and clipping as needed.
• Set up the operating room and organize instrument tables.
• Identify damaged or incomplete trays and rectify discrepancies.
• Assist with draping, positioning the patient, and passing sterile supplies.
• Ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment during procedures.
• Maintain inventory and handle decontamination and transportation of instruments.
