Job summary

4100 Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team on a 36-hour work week with 3x12-hour shifts at our Newton campus.

Under supervision, you will assist in setting up the operating room, preparing and transporting patients for surgery, passing instruments, and helping maintain sterile processing standards in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Experience in lieu of degree not accepted.
• Licenses: CSFA and CST preferred by NBSTSA.
• Experience: 2-3 years as surgical technologist in acute care setting required.
• 4+ years as surgical technologist in acute care preferred; leadership experience 3-5 years preferred.
• Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room; ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Participates in time-out procedures.
• Attains extra supplies and equipment as needed.
• Sets up equipment independently.
• Participates as an active member of the Patient Care Team.
• Monitors operating room conditions for patient and surgical team needs.
• Prepares patients for surgery and positions them on the table.
• Familiarity with SPD Sterile Room procedures.
