Job summary

Mass General Brigham’s Newton-Wellesley Hospital seeks a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons, nurses and other OR staff, ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the operating room during procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing the OR, arranging sterile supplies and equipment, transporting and positioning patients, passing instruments, maintaining sterility, documenting procedures, and collaborating with the surgical team to support patient safety and efficient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 0-1 year experience as Surgical Technologist required; 1-2 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Set up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgery.
• Transport patients to the OR and assist with positioning and comfort.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures.
• Follow sterilization techniques to maintain instrument sterility.
• Maintain documentation of surgical procedures and counts.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists and other team members.
• Assist in preparing the surgical site with drapes and solutions.
• Secure and manage surgical drains and catheters as directed.
