Job summary

Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist I to assist surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in the operating room. You will help prepare the OR, set up sterile supplies, transport patients, and assist with instrument handling to ensure safe, efficient surgeries.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with 0-1 year of surgical technologist experience and BLS certification.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
0-1 year experience as Surgical Technologist required; 1-2 years in a similar setting preferred.
BLS Certification required; CST preferred; Dental Assistant license and NH Medical Imaging license may be preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
Set up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgery.
Transport patients to the operating room and assist with positioning.
Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment to the surgical team during procedures.
Follow proper sterilization techniques to maintain instrument sterility.
Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures and instrument counts.
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists.
Assist in preparing the surgical site with drapes and solutions.
Secure and manage surgical drains and catheters as directed.
