Job summary

4100 Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist I to assist surgeons, nurses, and other health care professionals in the operating room. You will prepare the room, set up sterile supplies, transport patients, and pass instruments to the team to ensure a smooth, safe procedure.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and CST NBSTSA preference. Experience of 0-1 year is typical, with 1-2 years preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Experience as Surgical Technologist I or in a similar role 0-1 year required; 1-2 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Set up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Transport patients to the operating room and assist with positioning.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team.
• Maintain sterile technique and instrument counts.
• Document surgical procedures and counts.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists.
• Assist in preparing the surgical site with sterile drapes.
