Job summary

Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist the surgical team in the operating room. You will prepare the OR, arrange sterile supplies and equipment, and help position patients for procedures.

You will pass instruments, maintain sterile technique, and document surgical details while collaborating with surgeons and nurses. The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with CST certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required; CST certification preferred.
• Experience as a Surgical Technologist in a similar setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Set up sterile supplies, instruments and equipment.
• Transport and position patients safely for surgery.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures.
• Maintain sterilization and instrument counts.
• Document procedures and maintain records.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses and anesthesiologists.
• Prepare surgical site with sterile drapes and solutions.
• Manage surgical drains and catheters as directed.
