Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team in a fast-paced surgical suite. You will assist in preparing patients, organizing instruments, and maintaining a sterile environment to ensure safe procedures.

Responsibilities include set-up and turnover between cases, monitoring sterilization processes, and supporting the RN circulator. Required are a high school diploma or GED and BLS; preferred are NBSTSA/NCCT and formal surgical technology training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent military training.
• Current NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile field and assists in assembling and organizing supplies and instruments.
• Assists RN circulator in patient prep and room turnover during surgeries.
• Monitors sterilization activities and ensures proper use of supplies; documents charges accurately.
• Participates in policy development and ongoing performance improvement efforts.
