Job summary

Atrium Health, Charlotte, seeks a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team by maintaining aseptic technique, preparing supplies and instruments, and assisting with patient preparation and specimen handling under the supervision of the Registered Nurse circulator.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, and completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military OR training with at least 2 years of OR experience;

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of aseptic technique and its application.
• Ability to communicate and write clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments for surgical procedures.
• Assists RN circulator in preparation of patient, supplies, instruments and specimens; supports room turnover.
• Monitors sterilization activities and ensures proper documentation.
• Participates in Performance Improvement processes and staff training.
• May serve as a clinical resource and contribute to unit projects.
