Job summary

Mercy Health is hiring a Surgical Technologist II for the Paducah Medical Pavilion. The role assists surgeons and nurses, prepares the operating room, and supports aseptic technique throughout procedures.

Requires an Associates Degree or equivalent in Surgical Technology, BLS, and national certification eligibility with at least one year of experience. Mercy Health offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology is required.
• One year of experience as a Surgical Technologist is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association is required.
• Certification options include CST, NBSTA/TS-C, NCCT; CST with VA Board if residing in VA is required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble supplies and equipment for operative and invasive procedures.
• Provide supplies to the surgical team during procedures and maintain aseptic technique.
• Report implanted devices, catheters, drains and packing to circulator.
• Prepare and perform surgical skin prep as indicated by procedure.
• Assist with pre and post procedure cleaning of the operative room.
• Demonstrates understanding of patients Advance Directives
• Demonstrates knowledge of MIS, laparoscopy, robotics and related equipment.
