Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist II for the Paducah Medical Pavilion to support surgeons and nurses in the operating room. The role includes aseptic preparation, tool handling, and assisting with routine surgical workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate’s degree or equivalent certification in Surgical Technology, applicable certs (CST/NBSTA/TS-C/NCCT), and at least one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology is required.
• Must be certified by one of the following: CST, NBSTA, TS-C, or NCCT.
• One year of experience as a Surgical Technologist is required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble supplies and equipment required for operative and invasive procedures.
• Provide supplies to the surgical team during the procedure and maintain aseptic technique.
• Report any implanted devices, catheters, drains and packing to circulator.
• Prepare and perform surgical skin prep as indicated by procedure.
• Assist with pre and post procedure cleaning of the operative or invasive procedure room.
• Demonstrates understanding of patients Advance Directives.
• Demonstrates knowledge of equipment, MIS, laparoscopy, and robotics.
