Job summary

DuPont Surgery Center in Kentucky is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a full-time position in the operating room. You will support surgeons, nurses, and the OR team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterile tables, and assisting during procedures.

The role requires CPR certification and 0-2 years of related clinical experience. Education preference is from an accredited technologist program, with opportunities to grow in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program preferred but not required.
• Must be CPR certified with 0-2 years of clinical experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures.
• Sets up surgical instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and solutions before operations.
• Attends to patient during pre-operation procedures per center regulations.
• Performs pre-operation preparations to patient’s skin, body, and equipment.
• Assembles sterile and non-sterile equipment and ensures proper operation.
• Prepares patients for surgery, transports to the OR, positions on the table, and applies drapes.
• Monitors patient vital signs, checks charts, and assists with gowns and gloves.
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeons; assists with counting and specimen handling.
• Operates sterilizers, lights, suction machines, and diagnostic equipment.
• Assists with transfer to recovery and restocks operating room.
