Job summary

The Surgical Technologist II role at Maine Medical Center, part of MaineHealth, ensures all necessary elements are in place for surgical procedures and supports staff and students in the OR.

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program, possess NBSTSA certification within three months, and hold current BLS. One year of CST experience preferred; relocation and sign-on bonuses are available for approved offers.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology is required.
• NBSTSA certification is required within three months of start date; BLS certification due within 30 days.
• One year of experience and competency in CST I functions.

Responsibilities

• The role ensures all elements necessary for surgical procedures are in place.
• Participates in teaching staff and students in the operating room.
• Meets criteria for Surgical Technologist I role.

Summary

The Surgical Technologist II role is responsible for ensuring all necessary elements are in place for surgical procedures. Participates in the teaching of staff and students and meets all criteria for Surgical Technologist I.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology required.
• License/Certifications: Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required within three months of start date or at discretion of Director for positions at MMC. Certification preferred at SMHC. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• Experience: One year of experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Surgical Technologist I role.
