Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Surgical Technologist II for Cardiac Surgery at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. Full-time, day shift. Eligible for a $15,000 sign-on bonus, with an additional $20,000 for CVOR experience. Requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program and NBSTSA certification within 3 months.

BLS due within 30 days of start date. Relocation is offered for approved offers. Experience in CVOR is a plus; duties include assisting in cardiac procedures and teaching

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
• Certification by the NBSTSA required within 3 months of start date or per Director discretion.
• Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist in cardiac surgeries as a Surgical Technologist II.
• Participate in teaching staff and students to ensure procedures run smoothly.
• Maintain sterile technique and readiness of instruments and equipment.

Summary:
The Surgical Technologist II role is responsible for ensuring all necessary elements are in place for surgical procedures. Participates in the teaching of staff and students and meets all criteria for Surgical Technologist I.

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology required.
• License/Certifications: Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required within three months of start date or at discretion of Director for positions at MMC. Certification preferred at SMHC. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• Experience: One year of experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Surgical Technologist I role.
