Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME, is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist II for a full-time day shift. This role supports general surgery including ACS/EGS, surgical oncology, thoracic, and pediatrics, and offers a pathway for staff and student teaching.

The Surgical Technologist II ensures all setup elements for procedures, participates in training, and meets criteria for Surgical Technologist I.

Formación

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology required.
• Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required within three months of start date or at discretion of Director for MMC.
• Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• One year of experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Surgical Technologist I role.

Summary

This is a full time, day shift position. General Surgery includes ACS/EGS (Acute Care Surgery/Emergency General Surgery), Surgical Oncology including thoracic, and pediatrics.

The Surgical Technologist II - MMCP role is responsible for ensuring all necessary elements are in place for surgical procedures. Participates in the teaching of staff and students and meets all criteria for Surgical Technologist I.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology required.
2. License/Certifications: Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required within three months of start date or at discretion of Director for positions at MMC. Certification preferred at SMHC. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
3. Experience: One year of experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Surgical Technologist I role.
