Job summary

The Surgical Technologist II at MaineHealth's Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME supports the cardiac surgery team by ensuring the right instruments, supplies, and setup are in place for procedures. The role also involves assisting with teaching of staff and students and maintaining readiness for each case.

New grads may be eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus and experienced CSTs for a $15,000 sign-on; current MaineHealth employees are not eligible.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology required.
• Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required within three months of start date or at discretion of Director for positions at MMC. Certification preferred at SMHC.
• Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• One year of experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Surgical Technologist I role.

Summary:

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

The pay range for this position is $27.27to $36.88 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
