Job summary

Maine Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to support the operating room team on the 2nd shift. You will ensure all elements are in place for procedures and assist in teaching staff and students.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, NBSTSA certification within three months, BLS, and at least one year of CST experience. MaineHealth offers a comprehensive benefits package and a $15,000 sign-on bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology required.
• Certification by NBSTSA required within three months of start date or at discretion of Director.
• Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• One year of experience required; competent in essential CST functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile technique and supports CST I role as needed.

Summary:

2nd Shift

The Surgical Technologist II - MMCP role is responsible for ensuring all necessary elements are in place for surgical procedures. Participates in the teaching of staff and students and meets all criteria for Surgical Technologist I.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology required.
2. License/Certifications: Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required within three months of start date or at discretion of Director for positions at MMC. Certification preferred at SMHC. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
3. Experience: One year of experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Surgical Technologist I role.

The pay range for this position is $27.27to $36.88 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
