Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Grapevine, TX is seeking a Surgical Technologist 2 to assist the surgical team during procedures under RN supervision. This is a full-time day shift with on-call 1–3 shifts per month and a requirement to live within 30 minutes of Baylor Grapevine Hospital.

Responsibilities include instrument preparation, sterile setup, counts, draping, specimen handling, and operating room cleanup.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION - Grad of an Accredited Program
• EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
• CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - BLS and CST required

Responsibilities

• Discuss special needs with the surgeon prior to surgery and scrub in.
• Prepare operative site and clipping as needed.
• Maintain instrument table and ensure correct counts.
• Identify damaged/incomplete trays and rectify promptly.
• Set up OR according to procedure; arrange sterile supplies.
• Ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment during procedures.
• Assist with draping, positioning, and passing instruments as needed.
• Receive surgical specimens and ensure proper transfer to sterile field.
• Assist with placement of dressings after case completion.
• Clean the OR after each case and manage instrument decontamination.
