Job summary

Advocate Health's 37703 Aurora West Allis Medical Center - Surgery is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. The role involves aseptic preparation, instrument handling, and assisting surgeons to ensure a sterile, efficient environment.

Hours are 40 per week on a schedule of 0630-1900 with three 12-hour shifts, plus weeknight, weekend and holiday call rotations. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is eligible, and relocation is available based on distance.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months.
• No prior experience required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, supplies and equipment using aseptic techniques for surgeries.
• Assist in gowning, gloving, draping and providing sterile field instruments.
• Set up operating room and move equipment as needed.
• Serve as Second Assistant when required.
• Notify staff of equipment/supply issues.
• Transport patients and equipment.
• Maintain specialty cart and ensure item readiness.
• Assist in patient positioning and transfers.
• Provide age-appropriate patient care per department policies.
